In today’s fast-paced and demanding world, it can be easy to neglect our own self-care. We’re constantly bombarded with demands from work, family, and friends, and it can be hard to find the time or energy to take care of ourselves. However, self-care is essential for our physical, mental, and emotional health, and even affects those around us.

According to a survey conducted by Mental Health First Aid, Americans cited enhanced self-confidence (64%), increased productivity (67%), and happiness (71%) as direct benefits of self-care. Further, research has shown that self-care can directly influence one’s physical health, reducing risk of heart disease, stroke, and even cancer.

What Is Self-Care?

Self-care is anything a person does to take care of their physical, mental, and emotional health. It can be anything from getting enough sleep and eating healthy foods to exercising, meditating, or spending time with loved ones. Nobody knows us better than we know ourselves, so the most impactful methods of self-care can look different for everyone. Here are some benefits of self-care:
