WHEN SHOULD I GO TO AN URGENT CARE CENTER?

There are many situations when visiting an Urgent Care Center is the right move for you. At Next Level Urgent Care, we are committed to providing high quality, affordable health care to all of our patients. We have an experienced and professional staff that can provide a variety of medical services. Whether your child has suddenly broken a bone, or if you or someone you know has fallen ill, our staff always delivers quality and effective assistance.

Visiting a specialist or an Emergency Room can be expensive. That's why we offer our services at a fraction of the price charged by specialists. If a patient walks in without insurance, the most they will pay out of pocket in our clinics is $200 (including broken bones).

Not only do we provide a variety of health care at affordable prices, at Next Level Urgent Care we pride ourselves on offering convenient service hours and 7 day-a-week care. We are open Monday-Sunday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. This allows you to book an appointment at a suitable time - even online by downloading our app or you can simply walk-in when it is most convenient for you. It is hard to predict when you or a loved one may become sick, get hurt or injured and will be in need of professional medical care. In these moments, you should book urgent care that is convenient and reasonably priced. At Next Level Urgent Care, we offer affordable prices for excellent care.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN AN URGENT CARE CENTER AND AN EMERGENCY ROOM?

With so many medical centers in the Houston area it is sometimes hard to tell if a facility is an Urgent Care Center or an Emergency Room. It is important to know the difference or you could end up getting overcharged, paying huge amounts for very basic medical procedures. At Next Level Urgent Care, we provide a variety of medical services at affordable prices. We can help diagnose your illness, service broken bones and more. If you come into one of our clinics needing assistance beyond our scope of care, we will refer you to a specialist or an emergency room at no charge for your visit to our clinic.

Although Emergency Rooms are well suited for providing care if the illness or injury is seriously life-threatening, they are often extremely overpriced when it comes to basic medical procedures. Often times, patients end up paying emergency rooms multiple times what they would paid Next Level Urgent Care for the same health care. If you are seeking medical care, Next Level Urgent Care is likely your best option. We have an experienced and qualified staff that can provide a variety of medical services. Our centers offer convenient hours, competitive prices and high quality medical care.

  • When should I visit a hospital rather than an Urgent Care facility

You’re hurt, you’re in pain, and you know you need help. There’s a Next Level Urgent Care clinic less than a mile away, but when should you visit a hospital instead?

The answer lies in the differences between an emergency department and an urgent care clinic as well as the difference between emergency care and urgent care. By definition, an emergency is a condition that is either life- or limb-threatening. In other words, if the injury or illness is severe enough that you may die or lose a part of your body because of it, you need to get to a hospital as fast as possible. That’s the time to call 911.

If you have been sick for a couple of days and are not getting better, if you have cut yourself deeply enough to see the bone beneath the skin, if you’ve fallen and are concerned you may have broken a wrist or ankle, you may be better off going to an urgent care facility, rather than an emergency department.

Yes, your condition is urgent. It cannot wait until tomorrow, but it is not life-threatening. The urgent care clinic has medical professionals on staff who can diagnose your illness, suture your wound and X-ray your bones to determine whether there is a fracture. You will spend a lot less time waiting and a lot less money for excellent care in the urgent care clinic.

Ultimately, you have to decide which place to go based on the situation.

For example, if you are a man in your 40s and you are experiencing severe chest pain–especially if associated with shortness of breath–you need to call 911 and get to the nearest emergency. Do not attempt to drive there yourself. You may be having a heart attack. You might need special procedures or medicines not available at an urgent care facility.

If you’ve been coughing for a few days and now you’re running a fever and the cough is getting worse, you might have pneumonia. An urgent care clinic should be able to diagnose you with an X-ray and provide you with a prescription for appropriate antibiotics. If it turns out that you’re sicker than you thought you were, the urgent care doctor can and will make arrangements to transfer you to a hospital for further evaluation.

There are a multitude of situations that can vary from an urgent condition to an emergent one. Always be cautious. If you are concerned that the problem might be a true emergency, go to a traditional emergency room or call 911 immediately. Do not take a chance. For those other times when your child falls out of a tree and might have broken his collarbone, when you slice your finger cutting tomatoes, when the neighbor’s cat bites you or you have a terribly sore throat, you’ll receive friendly, efficient service and professional care at Next Level Urgent Care. Best of all, it won’t cost you an arm and a leg, because urgent care treatments come at a considerably lower price than equivalent emergency room services.

Next Level Urgent Care offers a wide range of services for acute medical conditions, including sinus infections and broken bones, but there are times when a visit to the emergency room is required instead.

You should go to the nearest hospital for treatment if you or someone you know has a life-threatening medical condition that needs immediate care, such as severe head trauma, chest pains, serious wounds or amputated limbs. These types of conditions must be treated promptly in order to lower the risk of fatality. Urgent care centers are typically not equipped to handle life-and-death medical emergencies.

If your condition is not a life-threatening one, however, the medical staff at an urgent care clinic can provide you with proper treatment. Visit a nearby clinic to receive high-quality, affordable care for acute medical issues when your regular doctor is not available.

Urgent care clinics are increasing in popularity thanks to their convenience, affordability and excellent care.

They are an excellent choice when a child suddenly exhibits flu symptoms on a Saturday morning, when your regular doctor’s office is closed. They’re a great option when you’re struck by a migraine headache at 8 o’clock in the evening, or when your adventurous son seems to have broken his arm when he fell out of the neighbor’s tree.

Urgent care facilities–or walk-in clinics, as they are sometimes called–offer quick medical treatment at times when most doctor’s offices are closed, immediate appointments are hard to come by, but the condition doesn’t quite warrant the true emergency attention or prohibitive cost of a hospital emergency room.

The following life-threatening emergencies, however, require instant action and should be taken directly to your closest ER:

    • shortness of breath
    • profuse bleeding
    • heart attacks
    • strokes
    • unconsciousness
    • severe fevers in children

Great experience! The nurse was really nice and the doctor was great with our 3 year old. They were thorough and spend plenty of time with us. We will definitely be coming back if we ever need urgent care again.

I have had the great fortune of being misfortunate enough to visit this place twice in the last two months. Their service far exceeded my expectations.
